A-Z Blogging Challenge 2016 - Theme Reveal

NOUN (plural potpourris)
[MASS NOUN]
1
A mixture of dried petals and spices placed in a bowl to perfume a room.

1.1
A mixture or medley of things:
he played a potpourri of tunes from Gilbert and Sullivan

Origin
Early 17th century (denoting a stew made of different kinds of meat): from French, literally 'rotten pot'.

Oxford Dictionary

...and the theme for 2016 is....ta dahhh!! Yes, you've guessed it...much the same as last year! A potpourri, a lucky dip, a miscellany of bits 'n bobs. (As a Myers-Briggs IN, I prefer to keep my options open).

So, beginning on April 1st, I'll be blogging my way through the alphabet, one letter each day, apart from Sundays. From Aardvarks to Zechariah, Athanasian  Creed to Zumba, who knows what exotic perfumes will permeate the portals of blogspot.uk! What literary, poetical and spiritual casseroles lie simmering on the Greenpatches hob? What's stewing? I'll leave you with some wise words to ponder, from my late, great Domestic Science teacher, ( the aptly  named Mrs Potts):

Stewing is - long slow cooking, with  a small amount of water, in a vessel with a tightly-fitted lid!

Welcome to my blog. I always love receiving comments; do feel free. If you're visiting from the A-Z challenge (or even if you're not!) could I thank you for your patience in using the dreaded captcha verification thingy. It's a pain, I know, but I've had problems with spam in the past and would rather keep Greenpatches as a junk-free zone.
