Jubilee - Let the festivities commence!

...and I could have sworn that my bunting (see 2011 Greenbelt pic) was neatly stashed away with my craft supplies. Not so, it seems. Item 1 on the 'to-do' list for the day: rake out my rucksack from the tottering pile under the stairs and check there.

There is an alternative - get going on the handy bunting kit that Ms GP gave me for my birthday. Given the combined lack of a  machine and my sewing skills, we could be in for a long wait. Your Majesty - would you mind posponing the celebrations for a month, or three?

  1. Shock! Horror! Wot, no bunting? The neighbours either side had put up theirs, and the houses opposite, and we still had none. And there was none to be had for love nor money in town. So I bought some fabric, cut it up, and glued it to some tape. A metre of fabric made 24 m of bunting so we can face the neighbours with pride.

  2. Here in Scotland we find we don't need the bunting so much!

  3. Hey, but you celebrated the Royal Wedding - some of you... I remember one pub we stayed in during our tour last year had had a load of friends, family and neighbours round to watch it in style! :)

  4. Kirsten - I'm ashamed to say I chickened out on the bunting front after all. It'd only go soggy if I put it out; It's raining cats and dogs down here. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

  5. Oh, and forgot to say that my GB bunting was a no-sew project: involving much judicious stapling and glueing.

Welcome to my blog. I always love receiving comments; do feel free. If you're visiting from the A-Z challenge (or even if you're not!) could I thank you for your patience in using the dreaded captcha verification thingy. It's a pain, I know, but I've had problems with spam in the past and would rather keep Greenpatches as a junk-free zone.
