A-Z Day 16: Nada Te Turbe

Let Nothing Disturb You. There are two musical treats for you today (I couldn't choose between them) - both inspired by a  hymn written by St Teresa of Avila: Firstly, the familiar  setting  by the Taize Community (above). Then, equally beautiful yet very different in style, a Virtual Choir made up entirely of Carmelite nuns.

Nada te turbe;
nada te espante;
todo se pasa;
Dios no se muda,
la paciencia
todo lo alcanza.
Quien a Dios tiene,
nada le falta.
Solo Dios basta

  1. Thankyou so much for two beautiful New (to me) pieces. I love the taize tradition, but the other version also is a lovely contemplative piece.

  2. I'm glad you enjoyed them, Ray. The second version is new to me also. I agree - it's a beautiful piece.

  3. Both are nice but I too liked the 2nd one, mainly to see the nuns who were doing the singing :)

Welcome to my blog. I always love receiving comments; do feel free. If you're visiting from the A-Z challenge (or even if you're not!) could I thank you for your patience in using the dreaded captcha verification thingy. It's a pain, I know, but I've had problems with spam in the past and would rather keep Greenpatches as a junk-free zone.
